Moti Privacy Policy
Effective date: Applies from the release of Moti 2.0.
Kyaa Studio (키야스튜디오, "we") makes and operates the iPhone app Moti (the "app"). This policy explains where the app keeps the information it uses and which outside services it exchanges information with.
1. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information from users. The app has no sign-up or sign-in, we run no servers, and the app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs.
If you send us an email with “Send Feedback” in the app, we receive your email address and message. If “Attach Diagnostic Summary” is on, we also receive a diagnostic summary (app and device information, settings, alarm settings, the times of your wake-up, alarm and Bedside Mode records from the last 2 weeks, and the app’s activity log). The summary never includes your intentions, alarm names or video details. You can view the attachment before sending and turn it off. We use these emails only to answer you and improve the app, and delete them one year after we reply, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
2. Information stored only on your device
To work, the app stores the following on your iPhone only. None of it is sent to us.
- Alarm settings: time, repeat days, alarm sound, linked video, bedside mode and wake check settings
- Video library: the address, title, channel name and thumbnail address of YouTube videos you add
- Wake records: when you got up, when the alarm rang, the intention you wrote for the day, your evening intention check answers, and when bedside mode started and ended
- Settings: playback mode, theme, evening reminder time, and (if you turn on the voice cheer) the name to call you
- Subscription status: the app checks whether you have Moti Plus using the purchase information Apple provides on your device
The Home Screen widget and the share extension (used to send a YouTube link from another app to Moti) read this information from an app group storage area on the same device. If you use iCloud Backup or computer backups, this information may be included in those backups as Apple's backup works.
3. Information exchanged with outside services
The app talks to the following services directly from your device, without passing through us. Each company's own policy applies to what it processes.
- Google (YouTube): When you add a video, the app sends the video address to YouTube to get its title and thumbnail, and loads the thumbnail image from YouTube's servers. Videos play in the YouTube player, and while a video plays Google may process device information, your IP address, cookies and similar data. “Search on YouTube” opens the YouTube app or website.
- Apple: Apple handles payments and subscription management. We never receive your payment method or Apple Account details. Alarms and notifications are scheduled on your device. If you turn on “Share With App Developers” in your device settings, Apple may pass app crash reports to us.
Wake record files (CSV) and Year in Review images that you export yourself go only to the apps or people you choose.
4. Sharing and processing by others
Because we do not collect personal information, we do not share it with or entrust its processing to anyone.
5. Retention and deletion
Information on your device stays until you delete it.
- Feedback emails are deleted one year after we reply (section 1).
- “Delete All Records” in the Records tab menu deletes wake records, intentions, evening intention check answers and bedside mode records at once. You can also touch and hold a record to delete it.
- Alarms and saved videos can be deleted on their own screens.
- Deleting the app deletes its data on your device.
6. Your rights
All information is on your device, so you can view, change and delete it in the app at any time. You can contact us with questions using the details below.
7. Cookies
The app does not set or use cookies itself. The YouTube player may use Google's cookies.
8. Children
We do not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
9. Security
We hold no user information. Information on your device is protected by the encryption iOS provides.
10. Contact
- Name: Seonghwan Shim (owner)
- Email: steve@kyaastudio.com
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will post it here with a new effective date. Important changes, such as starting to collect new information, will also be noted in the app's update notes.
From version 2.0, the app no longer uses advertising (AdMob) or analytics (Firebase) tools. Earlier versions (1.x) used both.
